CEK TOKO SEBELAH
(2016) Directed by : Ernest Prakasa

Cek Toko Sebelah is a story about respecting the choice of life and having a strong idea of how a potential horizontal and internal conflict can be avoided if we are open to each other, open up a space of dialogue and give up personal egoism. The idea was conveyed through the frame of a Chinese family who had a head of the family with a stodgy outlook of life that in everyday life had been attached to the label, "every Chinese must be a merchant".

Review
Comedy, maybe one of the most difficult genre of nailing. My preferences make watching the most Indonesian comedy in a task. Ernest Prakasa, however, have proved that the drama comedy series Cek Toko Sebelah is a force to be reckoned with.

There are 2 moments in the Shop next door check, the second feature feature film of comic Ernest Prakasa after Ngenest (2015), who managed to make my heart touched. where the momentum has managed to arouse my mind even after the movie is over.

The first moment, there was a time when Koh Afuk leaned on the columns of his new Jaya Baru grocery store that now looked empty. The elderly Koh Afuk, small and hair-ridden with gray hair, was seen pushing his own back to the columns column. It shows the fragility. His eyes looked nanar and dismayed. The water and the expression on his face looked desperate. He then slowly sat down and then cried with the soundtrack accompanied by a very coherent with the circumstances. The scene is only a few seconds, but is an accumulation of the various events we have seen on the previous screen. I was heartbroken to see the scene that then made me think of my daddy. I could feel his disappointment when his son ignored his wishes, through the character of Koh Afuk.

Second momentum, while at the funeral of Koh Afuk's wife or mother of Yohan and Erwin where at that time Yohan was on a pilgrimage at his mother's grave accompanied by Ayu his wife to tell him about the grievance of his new incident and the past regret for the deed done by him. Then came Koh Afuk together with Erwin and Natalie accompanied by welding of what was done to Yohan, sadness culminated as Koh Afuk and Yohan exchanged apologies and embraced each other.

Cek Toko Sebelah to be sold as a comedy movie. The title itself refers to a phrase that expresses the shopkeeper's expression of encouraging the prospective buyer to compare the price or quality of the merchandise to a competitor's store. This film does offer a series of humor, but the humor is combined with a drama that successfully executed well. Combining comedy and drama in a story is a high-risk job and the film is an example that blends it nicely. I laughed because of the majority of the jokes in it, but the drama element in the movie is what makes me so enjoyed and even very attached.

I officially noted that Cek Toko Sebelah is my favorite movie in Indonesia in 2016. It is displayed with no need to be exaggerated to be funny. If you have enough intelligence and charm, clever intelligence and brilliant time will captivate your audience and play with their hearts. Of course, it also helps to bring your character to life, and a great soundtrack to improve your mood. Coupled with the many unforgettable thieves and attention to detail - the brand name is sure to die. Awesome and exciting, Cek Toko Sebelah is an incredible offering from Ernest Prakasa that can not be missed. After all, he is a story teller. Whether it's in drama, or in comedy.
